Summary and Background:
The clinic based nurse is a new position in International Medical Corps health unit and is supposed to assist the supported Primary Health Care Centers in the daily nursing services and is supposed to report back to the health manager on the clinic needs and reports. The list of tasks will be defined by the Primary Health Care Centers and International Medical Corps on the first visit and will include part of the below tasks and duties which will vary from one clinic to another.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess the beneficiary’s situation through Triage
- Conduct all nursing work as well as vaccination services and related information
- Carry first aid when required
- Develop and maintain patient records and enter data in their files
- Assist doctors at the Primary Health care Center when possible
- Review and document test results and follow up with doctors and clients
- Ensure proper implementation of the health information system in the clinics to collect monthly data
- Provide health education to families and individuals inside the Center and in the community as needed
- Conduct early diagnosis for Non- communicable diseases
- Prevent and combat the spread of infection in the health Center and apply all measures for disinfection and sterilization
- Comply with the professional practice standards for Nurses
- Maintain good team work
- Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Director of the Primary Health Care Center by the area health manager.
- Coordinate with the International Medical Corps pharmacist in the area to ensure adequate supply of pharmaceutical , medical equipment’s and supplies donations to the designated health facilities
- Collect and provide the clinic reports and share it with assigned staff respecting deadlines given.
- Monitor and follow up the issues related to the chronic medication files. Attend the regular meeting at International Medical Corps office which is will be monthly.
- Respond to the quality department queries as part of this Job Description including surveys, focused report, indicated templates, etc…
- Work with the other health team member and the Primary Health Care Center staff to improve the referral system.
- Work closely with the program assistant to ensure all proper documents are available and ready on time.
- Coordinate with the field medical advisor to ensure accurate follow up on the MR and registering all the medical data.
- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
Minimum Qualifications
Academic and professional
i. Possession of a BS in Nursing
ii. License to practice nursing in Lebanon
Experience
i. A minimum of two years of satisfactory working experience as a registered nurse
ii. Experience in the use of computers and understanding of their use in health applications
Language
Good command of written and spoken Arabic and working knowledge of English/French
Desirable Qualifications
i. Working knowledge in primary health care and specifically NCD services
ii. Ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload
