Clinic Based Nurse - Hermel Qadaa dispensary

Summary and Background:

The EPI Nurse work at the Qadaa dispensary to ensure the functioning of the EPI program thereby ensuring a steady supply of essential vaccinations to Primary Healthcare centers (PHCCs) and dispensaries in the respective Qadaa.

Place in the Organization

The EPI Nurse reports to the respective Qadaa physician and IMC Health Area Manager.

Functions and responsibilities

1. Supervising, monitoring, & controlling the vaccination program within the Qadaa dispensaries
2. Coordinating the mechanism of receiving and submitting the vaccines to the entitled dispensaries & Primary Health Care centers within the Qadaa per the guidance set by the EPI management.
3. Monitoring the proper functioning and effectiveness of the cold chain system within each dispensary in the Qadaa
4. Ensuring that the validity of the documented data is pertinent and relevant to the vaccination process through regular revision of the reporting received.
5. Coordinating & monitoring data entry concerning all vaccination processes
6. Conducting periodic field visits to all Qadaa dispensaries to audit the documentation process, cold chain & techniques of vaccine administration per EPI Protocol.
7. Monitoring EPI Information Education and Communication activities
8. Participating in and providing EPI trainings for routine and supplementary immunization activities

9. Participating in development of routine EPI and Supplementary Immunization Activities (SIAs) plans

10. Building a team spirit and sense of interdisciplinary cooperation with the Qadaa Physician 

11. Documentation of EPI activities per the guidance of EPI management.

12. Perform other duties as required by PHC Department.
