Consultant In Gender Based Violence- Turkey

The consultant will support the integration of protection principles into ongoing humanitarian relief operations serving displaced Syrians. The consultant will coordinate with psychosocial, WASH and medical program staff, community groups and partner agencies to strengthen capacity for gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response. Responsibilities and deliverables: • Organize and lead trainings for healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses and first responders. Trainings will include do-no-harm and GBV guiding principles, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and basic health response for sexual violence. • Coordinate with agencies conducting training on clinical management of sexual violence. • Organize and lead trainings for psychosocial outreach staff and volunteers on integration of GBV principles and basic support for survivors. • Organize and lead basic GBV trainings for WASH and other staff/volunteers. • Build relationships with religious leaders and women’s associations along Turkish/Syrian border • Coordinate with religious leaders and women’s associations to increase support and information networks. • Coordinate with partner agencies, government officials and others as appropriate. • Prepare training reports and provide regular updates to program management. • Prepare an end-of-assignment report outlining accomplishments, challenges and recommendations for further interventions. Qualifications: • Advanced degree in social work, psychology or similarly appropriate educational/professional background • Experience in gender-based violence programming • Experience organizing and leading trainings • Experience in direct support of survivors of sexual violence • Experience in the Middle East or similar contexts preferred • Arabic language skills strongly preferred
