Level of Effort: The Consultant will work according to the deliverables listed below.

Background: The International Medical Corps Mental Health Department provides Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) consultations through its case management teams located in Bekaa, South, Tripoli, Akkar, Beirut and Mount Lebanon. International Medical Corps also aims to advocate for mental health, by promoting community based interventions through the youth and caregivers. Additionally, it provides awareness sessions on mental health topics, ECD, YEP, parenting skills, community support group activities. Moreover, International Medical Corps continues to provide mental health trainings and support the National Mental Health Program, with the MoPH.

Task Description: Consultant will provide a 3 day training on risk assessment and safety plan module for the MHPSS frontline workers. Consultant will complete the following tasks:

Based on the international Medical Corps Mental Health and Psychosocial Support guidelines, the consultant will:

  • Develop a training plan for case managers and roving social workers on suicide prevention, de-escalation techniques.
  • Train case managers, RSWs on risk assessment and safety plan tools
  • Support capacity development assessment
  • Follow up on the implementation of trainings, prepare schedules, ensure the training requirements are set and follow up on the implementation
  • Ensure that all documentation related to trainings are being filled and properly documented: fill in attendance sheets, pre-post-tests, submit training report.
  • Develop a case supervision strategy for MHPSS case managers.
  • Reports to be submitted:
  • Detailed report after the completion of the 3 days training
  • Trainer attendance sheet
  • Pre post tests

Qualifications:

  • Degree in social work or psychiatric nurse background
  • 4 years of work experience
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in suicide prevention.
  • Trained in mental health
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
  • Previous NGO experience is a plus
  • Personal interest in educational and mental health issues
  • Experience in providing trainings to frontline staff
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • The Consultant needs to have an MoF number 

Deliverables:

1- Submit consultant training report at the end of the training

2- Submit trainers attendance sheets

3-Submit Pre/post tests

4- Develop a case supervision startegy for MHPSS case managers

Due Date:
By the end of the training

Payment:

1,000 USD based on 3 working days, and 8 working hours/day and upon submission of final report, including all the preparation needed for the training and the supervision strategy.

Location of Work: training will be held in BML area.

Fee Amount:1,000 USD upon submission of all documentations.
