Services required from IMC to support assignment: International Medical Corps to provide email address and transportation compensation to sessions delivered outside Beirut and Mount Lebanon Areas.

1. BACKGROUND TO THE ASSIGNMENT:

The consultant will work as a recreational Activities Trainer – Painting Instructor Consultant, responsible for conducting painting sessions. The consultant will be responsible for planning and executing recreational sessions focused on painting across Lebanon in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa, Tripoli,Akkar and South Areas.  The Painting Instructor aims to equip beneficiaries with fundamental knowledge and techniques in basic painting skills.

 

2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The purpose of the painting instructor assignment is to provide women and girls with a creative and therapeutic outlet through painting. These sessions aim to foster self-expression and emotional healing, enhancing personal confidence and well-being in a supportive environment

 

3. SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Consultant will assume the role of recreational Activities Trainer – Painting Instructor for a project based in Lebanon. The Consultant will fulfill the following tasks:

The trainer must create comprehensive sessions with number of sessions, activities during the sessions and, objective of each activity. 

The trainer must be able to provide activities relevant to the GBV program and mission.

The trainer must prepare his courses with sensitivity towards customs of the beneficiaries (not ask anyone to remove their veil, and or touch any participant without their consent)

The consultant should receive the training on handling GBV disclosure and safe referral before commencing their work.

Lead engaging and interactive painting sessions for beneficiaries, providing step-by-step guidance and fostering a positive creative atmosphere.

 Work with the program team to ensure all required painting materials are available and organized for each session.

Tailor painting activities to the participants' preferences and skill levels, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience.

Collaboration with Program Team: Coordinate with the program team to align painting sessions with project objectives and integrate them into the program.

 

4. DELIVERABLES DESCRIPTION:

Deliver Painting Sessions to the beneficiary’s group

Deliver Pottery and Glass painting session   to the beneficiary’s group

Writing a comprehensive report after the completion of each training cycle. The report template will be provided by the program team. This report should encompass a detailed overview of the training conducted, participants' engagement, key outcomes, and any recommendations for improvement.

4.1. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT DELIVERABLES

The GBV program will coordinate with the consultant ahead of time to set dates suitable for both parties to deliver the training cycle. The consultant will be responsible of his transportation to the locations using his personal car.

Consultant Specifications

To perform this consultancy successfully, an individual must be able to perform each task with or without reasonable accommodation.

The trainer must have completed a certified course in ‘’Painting”

A bachelor’s degree in arts or any related field is a plus

Previous teaching experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Payment

Payments are delivery-based. Any deliverable not meeting the required specifications will have to be reworked and resubmitted at no additional cost.

The proposed payment schedule for this assignment (total budget) is N/A USD

Monthly payment, each month’s payment is to be paid on the 20th of the next month.

International Medical Corps shall pay Consultant per session’s rate. Rate per training session is 60 USD. Session’s length is 1 hour.

Transportation fees from consultant address to sessions conducted in Bekaa, Tripoli, North and South using consultant’s personal car are calculated based on the number of kilometers traveled per round trip as per IMC transportation policy matrix. Transportation fees is not provided for sessions delivered in Beirut, Mount Lebanon Areas.

Minimum sessions per day: 1

Maximum sessions per day: 4 (for different groups, not the same group. Each group should not receive more than one session per day).

 

Payments are made upon submission of progress reports on completed tasks, outlined against planned outputs. Based on the report and satisfactory performance, payments will be certified by the supervisor.

 

 

TITLE RIGHTS

International Medical Corps shall be entitled to all property rights including but not limited to patents, copyrights and trademarks with regard to material, which bears a direct relation to, or is made in consequence of, the services provided to the organization by the consultant. 

 

INSURANCE

Consultants are fully responsible for arranging, at their own expense, such life, health and other forms of insurance covering their period of service on behalf of International Medical Corps as they consider appropriate.  Consultants are not eligible to participate in life or health insurance schemes available to International Medical Corps employees

 

TAXATION

International Medical Corps undertake no liability for taxes, duty or other contributions payable by the consultant on payments under this contract. 

 

TERMINATION OF CONTRACT

Either party may terminate this contract before the expiry date of the contract by giving notice in writing to the other party. 

The period of notice shall be 5 days in case of contract less than 2 months duration and 30 days in the case of contracts for longer periods; provided however that the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or poor performance by the consultant, International Medical Corps shall be entitled to terminate the contract without notice.

 

In the event of the contract being terminated prior to its due expiry date, the consultant shall be compensated pro rata for no more than the actual amount of work performed to the satisfaction of International Medical Corps. 

Please note, for Lebanon-based roles, we are only able to accept applications from candidates who are eligible to work in Lebanon. Since the position is a national role, we are unable to progress applications that would require sponsorship.
