Background: IMC Lebanon has been operating as a country program for over 10 years and has answered to numerous crises in Lebanon and neighboring countries. In the last 6 years, IMC has predominately supported PHCCs and Social Development Centers (SDC) to provide holistic health care (health, mental health and Gender Based Violence (GBV) services) to Syrian refugee populations and vulnerable Lebanese. The teams, either in their functional composition i.e. Mental Health team or in their geographical structure (5 area offices) have fluctuated a lot and have been exposed to considerable stress in dealing with a worsening crisis in its 6th year. The IMC senior management team recognizes the need to conduct a number of team building exercises to take stock of the current team functionality and to express suggestions for improving the work environment.
Purpose: The purpose of this scope of work is to support the procurement of the services of one or two experts in team building processes (Name(s) TBD to plan for, travel to and/or implement the training for IMC area teams (5) and selected Beirut based support and program teams, (approx. 5). This team building exercises will serve IMC to improve its internal interaction between team members and allow for better planning and implementation of their activities based on a better understanding of the team’s and the individual team member’s roles and responsibilities.
Task Description: The Consultant(s) will serve as the team building facilitator (s) in planning for, organizing and following-up on one or two one-day team building retreats, which he/she will design in coordination with an IMC focal point in the HR department. The program project’s activity will be in Lebanon. Specifically, the Consultant(s) will complete the following tasks:
Meet with HR and a team focal point to discuss the current working environment of each team and better understand the current status of every team.
Design a workshop/retreat program to ensure an effective team building exercise.
Conduct retreats with teams that stress on the areas that need to be skilled up as agreed with HR and team focal points
Write a report about the results of the team building exercise and suggest a follow-up plan with concrete tasks and responsibilities for the team as a whole and individuals (if required).
Organize a follow-up one-day retreat to monitor results of the team-building plan for each team.
Location of Work: Consultant resides in Lebanon and will conduct her/his work in different locations in Lebanon.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology, Organizational Leadership or Human Resources Field is a must.
5+ years experience facilitating training and development workshops. A background in experiential methodology preferred.
5+ years of workplace leadership experience; demonstrated professionalism working with mature audiences .
Prior experience in coaching and/or consulting is preferred.
