Primary Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
Within delegated authority, the driver will be responsible for the following duties:
Drives staff members safely to various destinations in the country as required.
Responsible for all vehicle loads.
Assists in collecting and delivering documentation to and from IMC offices, local authorities, NGOs and other relevant offices.
Responsible for load distribution to respective IMC offices i.e. Tyre, Beirut, North and Bekaa offices.
Liaises with Logistics & Security Manager and Logistics Officer on issues relating to the maintenance of operation of vehicles including daily entries in vehicle log books and ensures that vehicles are cleaned and fueled.
Ensure log books are signed by relevant passenger and properly filled.
Assists with messenger duties that may be requested by the Logistics & Security Manager or relevant staff
Performs minor mechanical repairs on vehicle as required.
Reports any vehicle damage to Logistics & Security Manager immediately.
Reports any issues relating to the security of IMC staff or vehicles immediately
Submit reports to the Logistics & Security Manager immediately following any accident.
Carries out any other duties assigned by the Logistics & Security Manager.
When the driver is not on driving duties he reports to the respective travel planner and stays in the office for possible other duties assigned by the Logistics and Security Manager.
Abide by all the policies and procedures stated in the vehicle policy.
Undertakes training activities as instructed by the CD and the supervisor.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Demonstrates ability to drive commercial pattern vehicles. Ability to review alternative routes and select most efficient, excellent knowledge of institutional and local policies and road traffic regulations, Knows Beirut and the locations of the offices of different Embassies, Government , other NGOs and organizations.
Commitment to Continuous Learning: Willingness to keep abreast of new development in the field.
Communications: Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
Planning and organizing: Ability to coordinate work with others, work under pressure of tight and conflicting deadlines and handle concurrent activities.
Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to operate effectively across organizational bounders, ability to establish and maintain effective partnership and working relations in a multi-cultural , multi-ethical environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity .
Technological awareness: Knowledge of development in vehicle transport technology.
Others: Ability to operate independently in austere environment for protracted
