Job Summary
In the Middle East, including Lebanon, International Medical Corps has developed an Innovative appraoch of providing prevention and response services for survivors of gender-based violence through its broader mental health and psychosocial support and health programming. This integrated hollestic appraoch is provided by the GBV Team who work with affected populations, including survivors, that have multiple and complex needs and require a comprehensive case management appraoch which identifies, supports, and protects those who are vulnerable and promotes stablitly and recovery. IMC’s integrated approach ensures that survivors can access different levels of care, including more specialized support if needed, requested.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Develop, train and monitor staff on tools, forms and questionnaires such as Vulnerability assessment forms, safety auditing, feedback and evaluation forms, GBVIMS tools among others properly being used.
Ensure coordination with other IMC departments. Provide input on program development and recommendations, as required.
Ensure programming is on track in absence of direct supervisor; reporting daily on important issues that require supervisor feedback and decision making.
Regular coordination and collaboration with international or local partners and staff to ensure involvement is service delivery, planning and reporting.
Program Support - Maintain close communication and positive working relations at all times with relevant implementing partner(s)
Work with the Program Manager to ensure that all program activities are within the scope of objectives set by IMC and are in compliance with donor objectives and requirements
Identify and reinforce existing support mechanisms and work closely with local counterparts to ensure community buy-in and cultural appropriateness of activities
Provide guidance, feedback and capacity building to sub-grantee staff in reporting and monitoring
Make regular field visits to relevant project locations and partner offices to monitor and provide oversight on project implementation –
Ensure all programs and relevant sub-grantees have the necessary tools to track indicators, ensure program quality and plan activities. –
Train GBV staff to become leaders of GBV prevention and response. Depending on skill sets and required roles, trainings may include: gender, guiding principles of addressing GBV, GBV case management, referral pathway development, compassionate care, facilitation skills, mobilization, project cycle management, etc.
Organize and support trainings, as needed and appropriate
Actively participate in protection/GBV working groups and contribute to interagency initiatives, also promoting IMC as a leader agency in GBV
Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed
Attend IMC trainings when such trainings are planned and implemented.
Report directly to IMC GBV Program Manager.
Reporting:
Contribute to information-sharing and data management systems
Monitor relevant sub-grant work plans, budget projections and reports, including scheduling regular coordination meetings with relevant sub-grant staff
Data collection, collation and analysis.
Submit minutes of meetings.
Program documentation, data collection, analysis, final outcomes report for donor reports.
Documentation of all activities and outcomes. Submit regular reports to GBV Program Manager
