Health Area Manager - Beirut And Mount Lebanon

Summary and Background: The Health Area Manger will be responsible for managing and running the daily activities of IMC health activities in the respective field. He/ She is to oversee and manage the team working in the area and coordinate with all stakeholders. The health area manager is to work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Senior Health Operations Manager. Program Management: • Work with the Senior Health Operations Manager and other members of the team to develop the health sector strategy in the field through identification of program/sector needs. • Oversee and work with the health officers and primary health care (PHC) facilities health staff for the implementation of the assigned health activities and ensure that stated goals and objectives are met. • Coordinate with the International Medical Corps (IMC) team in the designated area for the implementation and monitoring of the work plans ensuring that activities reflect the commitments IMC made to the donors and the community. • Ensure integrated implementation with other sectors, particularly mental health and psychosocial program. • Ensure contracts and payments are in place for contracted facilities. • Work with field and central teams to ensure that all facilities are regularly reporting into the Health Information System • Ensure community health program are implemented as planned • Conduct need assessments, participatory assessments and surveys when needed   • Work closely with the logistics team to identify procurement and supply issues, support the identification of corrective actions and provide weekly procurement update. • Follow up with the pharmacist to ensure that medications are available, medical and nonmedical donations are prepared and no medical stock-outs reported • Conduct regular visits to contracted health facilities • Identify training needs for health providers and ensure supported facilities’ staff participate in IMC trainings • Conduct regular staff meetings in accordance with central office • Other duties as requested Financial Management • Work with the Senior Health Operations Manager to develop expenditure and procurement plans to guide implementation of approved grants in the site. • Review budget vs. actual expenditure for the field program on a monthly basis. • Provide recommendations and interventions to correct any identified deviations (related to compliance, over and under expenditure) that impact budget adherence. • Monitor monthly payment provision prepared by the Program Assistant. Staff Management: Manage and supervise all staff on the site • Ensure efficient and effective work schedule is in place for the health officers in the field according to the agreed work plan • Monitor the team’s performance according to their assigned tasks and provide regular feed back to the Senior Health Operations Manager • Perform evaluation of staff under his/her jurisdiction Coordination and Representation: • Provide updates to the Senior Health Operations Manager and central office team on a regular basis • Represent IMC in health sector and other relevant meetings and with local government representatives, international and local non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders   • Conduct coordination meeting and share information with community leaders and field workers • Represent IMC during donor visits • Coordinate on a regular basis with the Caza Physician and other MOPH representatives on the regional level Reporting: • Supervise the health team to ensure regular collection of the data and documentation as per grant and reporting requirements. • Provide accurate regular reports, statistics, and documented results and maintain detailed records of the overall health program activities in the field.   • Review facility and community level data from the field • Contribute to IMC’s monitoring and evaluation activities
