The Health Officer will have essential field duties, and reporting responsibilities including:
Program
1. Ensuring activities and trainings run according to protocol and programme development.
2. Organize regular Field health coordination meetings with all NGOS and stakeholders engaged in the health program, take minutes of the meeting and report to Medical coordinator.
3. Conduct coordination meeting and share information with community leaders and field workers.
4. Monitor all program activities including PHC, health education and secondary health care.
5. Supervise the Mobile Medical Teams implementation
6. Supervision of the work of the outreach team providing coaching and support
7. Collect health data and demographic information of the targeted beneficiaries during the house to house visits conducted by the Mobile teams.
8. Conduct weekly visits for Medical Coordinator supported PHC clinics, for supervision, monitoring, data collection, feedback and provide medical donations of pharmaceutical supplies.
9. Ensure programming is on track in absence of direct supervisor; reporting daily on important issues that require supervisor feedback and decision making.
10. Security Focal Point (SFP) for North.
11. To be part of the emergency medical team in case of emergency.
12. Continuous Coordination with all relevant stakeholders specifically UNHCR, HRC and the Ministry of Social Affairs
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Completes intake assessments, evaluations, treatment recommendations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary.
- Developing and identifying necessary measuring tools to assess success in accordance to indicators of program.
- Implementing and coordinating measurement tools in the field.
Reporting
- work closely with the health team in the north to Keep track of patient numbers/cases through Medical coordinator assisted patient , to be submitted at the end of every month.
- Data collection, collation and analysis.
- Program documentation, data collection, analysis, final outcomes report for donor reports.
- Documentation of all activities and outcomes. Submit regular reports to Regional Psychosocial Coordinator.
- Office documentation and other duties as required by Medical coordinator
- Report directly to the Medical coordinator
Qualification and requirements
Must hold a degree in nursing , public health, biology or medical social worker
Experience with NGOs is a must
Masters in public health
Meticulous, social, with excellent negotiating skills
Good computer skills, SPSS
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work effectively with a team environment honesty and integrity
Ability to work under pressure
Good in written and spoken English and Arabic languages
Ability to work in emergencies
IMC Guesthouse available in the north
