Health Officer - Bekaa

Background:

S/he is a member of the field area team which includes the field medical advisor, the area pharmacist, the senior health officer, the health officers, the quality officers, and the program assistants per area. 

Health program provides both technical and financial support to local primary health care centers to enable provision of affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services to refugee and vulnerable host population.

Job Purpose:

In charge of monitoring and improving overall service supervision at a number of supported primary health care centers.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor IMC program activities in the supported facilities through daily field visits for data collection, feedback, assessment and follow up of health service delivery including: reproductive health, child health, and NCD services. Also, through implementing tracer activities (monitoring patient and service flow), interviews, and other related tools
  2. Diagnostics: support IMC’s pre-approval process if requested by the Health Area Manager. 
  3. PHCC Capacity Building:

- Action plan: Develop and implement action plans aimed to improve identified gaps at supported PHCCs in coordination with the quality officer, other health field team members, and the relevant PHCC staff

- Trainings: Develop and deliver in-house capacity building as required. Provide evaluation of the effectiveness of trainings delivered to supported facilities, report results, and come up with recommendations.

- Holistic Care: Coordinate with PHCC focal point to map other health care institutions, social service organizations, or other agencies present in the catchment area to enhance continuity and holistic care through patient referrals 

  1. Internal Coordination with other IMC Field Staff to ensure smooth and proper implementation of program:

- Coordinate closely with the Program Assistant to ensure all proper documents are available for payments at the supported facility

- Coordinate with the area pharmacist, check for medication stock outs and fundamental pharmacy management standards as well as identify supply and equipment needs

-  Track NFI distribution to support CH team

-  Refer patients to other IMC sectors for services

  1. Reporting: Develop monthly reports, this includes: vulnerability, qualitative, and quantitative reports. Weekly follow up on proper data entry on the health information system at PHCCs. Monitor weekly EWARN submission to MoPH and report EWARN findings to area manager and area medical advisors
  2. Performing Joint visit to IMC-supported PHCCs with MOPH PHC Coordinators
  3. Prepare PHCC fact sheets before donor visits
  4. Data Analysis:
  5. -Plan and conduct public health studies/activities through PHCCs that aim to promote health and disease prevention 

    - Implement the response to an emergency need for health care such as the outbreak of an infectious disease

  6. Perform any other duties as requested by Health Area Manager
