Medical Doctor - Field Manager

Start Date: June 1, 2012 General: This position will support emergency response efforts for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, It's designed to assist the country program health team with in-house technical support where applicable. The Doctor will work very closely with the health team in north Lebanon and Bekaa and report on daily basis to the Medical Coordinator based in Beirut.. The post is to oversee the currentNorthern and Bekka program and ensure monitoring of health facilities is in place for the duration of the program.   Essential Job duties: Oversee all technical aspects of the Northern and Bekka program by supporting the current health team structure. Take part in any evaluation of capacity of health facilities and ensure proper monitoring of same. Assist the field health teams to organize and chair Field Health Working Group meetings in the north , Bekaa and attend WHO & UNHCR coordination meeting  directly related to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon as requested by the Medical Coordinator. Advice and support the Health team in Kobayat and Chatura on a daily basis on all hospital admissions and Health activities Liaise with all relevant health actors in the North and Bekka - ICRC, HRC, MSF et al where applicable. Assist with drafting and review of relevant SOPs for medical referrals, war wounded, mapping and assessing health services etc. Compile reports where necessary for the program in conjunction with the Medical Coordinator. Monitoring & evaluation of program field activities and ensure targets are met and deadlines respected Compiling and ensuring accurate stats from the SR program are on hand. Ensure WHO and UNHCR standards and guidelines are adhered to. Input directly in to the monthly reports as required. Input in to other donor reports and proposals as required. Take part in any emergency assessments and missions as required and review contingency plans in conjunction with the Medical Coordinator
