Job Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the MHPSS Coordinator and upon the technical approval of the MH Advisor, the MHPSS Case Management Support and Training Manager will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:
Orientation:
Provide orientation sessions for newly recruited case managers/social workers to walk them through the MHPSS case management model of IMC – process and tools;
Conduct the competency check list for newly recruited case managers and social workers in order to assess their capacities and skills and provide recommendations;
Introduce the work of IMC MHPSS department to the new staff and provide them with support.
Training and Capacity Building:
Train Officers and Area managers to conduct the competency check list for case managers and social workers on quarterly basis in order to assess their training and capacity building needs and oversee the implementation process;
Work on adapting existing training materials developed by IMC – national or international levels - to address the needs of case managers/social workers;
Work on preparing a training package for case manager/social workers and officers based on IMC guidelines;
Develop capacity building and training plans as per the IMC MHPSS developed capacity building framework and schedule trainings on central and field levels.
Prepare all necessary material for the training including training outlines, agendas, handouts, presentation, pre-post tests, etc.
Ensure that all necessary requirements to ensure a successful training session are prepared in a timely manner including material, equipment, venue and transportation in coordination with area managers, MH officer and program assistants.
When needed, work on updating training material, modules and tools, develop facilitation guides, and train MHPSS staff as required. Related training topics include: Case Management and Psychosocial Support programs (YEP, ECD, PFA, Parenting Skills) and activities (awareness raising and psychoeducation sessions);
Train Case Managers and Case Management staff on the use of forms related to the Patient files including: CM consultation, care plans, data collection sheet, progress notes.
Field support:
Provide on the job coaching sessions to staff trained on MHPSS case management model.
Lead the design, planning and facilitation of training workshops and sessions on MH case management and PSS programs and activities for IMC staff;
Work on developing a unified tools for the implementation of program activities;
Provide on-the-job mentoring to MHPSS case managers, social workers and Officers on technical MHPSS topics and facilitation skills;
Take part in team activities, including regular team meetings, planning process;
Conduct regular visits to the field to provide support to case managers and social workers in order to make sure that work is being done in line with IMC guidelines and procedures;
Ensure proper use and fill out of patient file documents and forms (CM consultation, care plans, CM database, progress notes).
Evaluation, Reporting and Documentation:
Submit training reports following each training session;
Ensure proper documentation of all training and capacity building session, develop necessary database for trainings with dates, topics, names, area, etc;
Review and adapt existing training evaluation tools to assess knowledge retention and skills competencies of participants and the effectiveness of training methods;
Provide recommendations for follow-up and for future capacity building activities;
Oversee logistical and financial arrangements with MH officer for all training activities to ensure their smooth implementation;
Coordinate and collaborate closely with MHPSS advisor;
Requirements
3-5 years professional experience in social services sector; experience working in sectors including MHPSS and Gender-Based Violence, Community Development and Mobilization.
Minimum one year management level experience in MHPSS program, activities and staff.
Strong understanding human rights, and issues surrounding beneficiaries with MH disorders
Demonstrated experience in developing, facilitating and evaluating trainings and workshops.
Experience building capacity of Social Workers/ Case Managers in technical development areas.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic required.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
