mhGAP Trainer and Supervisor-BML Area (Repost)

Period of Performance: 22nd October 2021 till 31st January 2022

Level of Effort: The Consultant will work according to the deliverables listed below.

Background: The International Medical Corps Mental Health Department provides Mental Health and Psychosocial (MHPSS) consultations through its case management teams located in Bekaa, South, Tripoli, Akkar, Beirut and Mount Lebanon. International Medical Corps also aims to advocate for mental health, by promoting community based interventions through the youth and caregivers. Additionally, it provides awareness sessions on mental health topics and several psychosocial support activities such as ECD, YEP, parenting skills, community support group activities. Moreover, International Medical Corps continues to provide mental health trainings and support the National Mental Health Program, with the MoPH.

Task Description: Consultant will serve as the PHCC mhGAP Trainer and Supervisor project’s activity in BML area. Specifically, Consultant will complete the following tasks:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
PHCC mhGAP trainer and supervisor

  • Provide 3 Days mhGAP training for PHCC staff in BML area.
  • Provide support and supervision to the trained PHCC staff on mhGAP:

- Conduct monthly meeting for mhGAP trained PHCC staff in BML region in order to provide support and supervise the work of integrating mental health into primary health care services
- Provide weekly remote support to the trained PHCC staff through weekly calls to ensure proper follow-up
- Follow up remotely with the mhGAP trained staff through phone calls as needed
- Develop a plan to address the identified gaps and challenges and provide needed support and guidance.

  • Support and participate the Mental Health Program activities related to the integration pilot project as required.

Deliverables:

  • Training report following the completion of mhGAP training
  • Session reports of weekly calls executed during the month
  • Session reports of monthly meetings performed during the month

Fee Amount: 
Fee amount of USD 80/training hour, USD 250/month for weekly supervision calls and USD 250/month for supervision meeting. He/she will be paid based on completion and International Medical Corps acceptance of deliverables.

    Qualifications:

    • Licensed Psychiatrist.
    • Completed all necessary registration with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and Lebanese Order of Physicians (LoP).
    • Specialized Trainings are a plus.
    • Fluent in spoken Arabic.
    • Previous NGO experience is a plus.
    • Personal interest in humanitarian work.
    • Willing to adhere to clinic schedule.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
