MHPSS Emergency Program Officer

 International Medical Corps is accountable to: patients and communities; host government, Ministry of Health; our organization and donors. International Medical Corps commits to a coordinated response under the national health emergency management authorities. International Medical Corps collaborates with the national health system, the cluster and the humanitarian community.

Job Purpose: Provide support to the case management team through the setting up and managing an efficient activity and reporting monitoring system, oversee the accuracy of data collection and follow-up on discrepancies detected.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor quality activity implementation through attending and monitoring sessions as well as follow-up on the supporting documents and reporting
• Build the MHPSS CM team’s capacity to document and fill the Data collection sheet (DCS), qualitative reports and utilize the evidence for program improvement
• Audit the information reported on the DCS and check the discrepancies found
• Make sure reporting is done regularly and on a timely manner
• Contribute to continuous analysis of the DCS and facilitate better understanding of challenges faced on field level
• Utilize findings to recommend trainings and detect areas where CM teams need further support and trainings
• Design and Conduct training (remote and on the job) related to Data management to case managers working with the MHPSS team.
• Support participatory appraisal, monitoring and evaluation in collaboration with M&E
• Undertake field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality and implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications and improvement
• Ensure that monitoring and evaluation reports are made

Desirable Qualifications :

  • Advanced degree in healthcare management/ Project management

Essential Experience: 

  • 1 to 2 years of previous relevant experience
  •  Basic understanding on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning

Essential Competency: 

• Excellent Communication skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English
• Highly organized
• Able to work within a team and under stress
• Excellent command of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to maintain electronic database
• Experience in or understanding of program accountability principles
• Strong understanding of the project cycle and of M&E systems
• Very good listening and facilitation skills
• Knowledge of, respect and empathy for the communities we are working with
