Psychiatrist- Forensic Unit

Responsibilities -          Perform Psychiatric assessment/evaluation of the inmates with mental disorders -          Prescribe medication to patients whenever needed; -          Develop patient specific care plan and coordinates such actions with the available health care staff and /or other staff from the referring department. -          Keep proper records of all interventions and update patient files. -          Coordinate the referral system from and to other units in the prison or outside the prison -          Provide a detailed written report monthly and meets weekly with his/her supervisor Minimum qualifications and professional experience: Education: Medical degree required (MD and Psychiatry) Experience: 1-3 years General Skills: Skilled in: Biopsychosocial model in mental health Community-based approach in mental health Human rights-based approach in mental health Evidence-based approach in mental health Ability to work in low resource settings and in a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Cultural sensitivity
