Organization Overview International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance. Job Summary In the Middle East, including Lebanon, International Medical Corps has developed an Innovative appraoch of providing integrated case management for survivors of gender-based violence through its broader mental health and psychosocial support case managment program.  This integrated case managment appraoch is provided by the GBV case workers who work with affected populations, including survivors, that have multiple and complex needs and require a comprehensive case management appraoch which identifies, supports, and protects those who are vulnerable and promotes stablitly and recovery. GBV and MHPSS integrated case management ensures that survivors can access different levels of care, including more specialized mental health support if needed and requested that is still survivor centered. Tasks & Responsibilities 1)    The trainer must be an activist against violence against women 2)    The trainer must have completed a certified course in “ Self Defense” 3)    The trainer must create comprehensive sessions with number of sessions, activities during the sessions and, objective of each activity. 4)    The trainer must be familiar with many self defense schools of thought ( Karate, Aikido and Jujitsu )  5)    The trainer must be able to provide activities relevant to the GBV program and mission, such as self defense against rape and/or sexual assault. 6)    The trainer must complete an entire approved course in the four areas of intervention across Lebanon. 7)    The trainer must prepare his courses with sensitivity towards customs of the beneficiaries ( not ask anyone to remove their veil, and or touch any participant without their consent )  “Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.”
