Senior Community Health Officer

Summary and Background: The Senior Community Health Officer (SCHO) is in charge of overseeing a set of activities under the community health program as assigned by the community health manager. Functions and responsibilities In accordance with established policies and procedures and in coordination, the Community Health Officer will lead the implementation of the community health program across areas. He/she will: Work closely with CH manager to plan for health campaigns based on community needs Oversee the schedules of zonal CH teams on a weekly basis Assist CH manager in planning and organizing trainings for CH team Lead execution of public health assessments on the field level with zonal teams Work closely with program assistant to enhance tracking of administrative matters related to CHP like budget, expenses, recruitment of CHWs, procurement requests and distributions With the support of the Community Health Manager and Monitoring and Evaluation team, train community health team on better utilization of tools and reporting mechanisms Conduct monitoring visits to the different areas to oversee program implementation Coach CHOs into better management of their zonal teams Work on creating better mechanisms to integrate activities between the different departments at IMC Facilitate financial procedure related to cash in advance and clearances between field teams and finance department Assist CH manager in collecting data and writing reports on community health program Assist CH manager in establishing a solid link with the sub-grantee to ensure proper follow-up, reporting and accountability Establish a new monitoring system to track Antenatal and postnatal care referrals and follow ups, vaccination referrals and Non-communicable disease Work closely with CH manager and Monitoring and Evaluation team to establish a well-structured post distribution management of non-food items and others, Assist CH manager in handling Complaints received by communities and community health workers ensuring proper accountability to affected population Contribute to recruiting CHWs in the different areas along with CHOs and CHSs Contribute to maintaining and developing CH guidebook, toolkit, visual aids and other health games as needed by the program Analyze monthly community health data to help identify trends and alerts Provide training sessions and/or refresher training to the volunteer throughout the year  Contribute to creating new IEC (Information Education Communication) materials Minimum Qualifications Academic and professional         i.            Possession of a BS in Nutrition, Pharmacy and Nursing or any other medical field of at least three years duration Experience         i.            A minimum of three years of satisfactory relevant working experience       ii.            Previous work with a non-governmental organization or community-health programming Language and Computer Skills Good command of written and spoken Arabic and English Excellent command of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint     Desirable Qualifications         i.            Post-graduate certificate in midwifery, public health or related discipline       ii.            Working knowledge in the provision of Maternal and Child Health care     iii.            Previous work with a non-governmental organization
