Senior Health Officer

Summary and Background:

The Senior Health Officer will be in charge of supervising the implementation of the health program by the health officers. The SHO will oversee all tasks related to the implementation of supported health services and coordination with the community team.

Main Tasks:

• Closely coordinate with the Health Officers to monitor the implementation of the various components of IMC PHC program at the supported facilities
• Conduct daily field visits to supervise the health program activities
• Ensure all coordination is done by the health officers to guarantee support by program assistants, pharmacists and logistics team
• Conduct needs assessments and participatory assessments to identify gaps and improvements
• Identify gaps and assess the progress of the program
• Follow up on cases referred to IMC by other partners.
• Ensure proper coordination between the community and the health team.
• Work closely with IMC Medical Advisors and pharmacists for follow up on medical cases and medication.
• Participate in the sectorial meetings and other stakeholder meeting when needed.
• Coordinate with the Health Officers to collect weekly data and monthly reports and send them to M&E, monitor the EWARN on a weekly basis.
• Coordinate with M&E team to collect all requested data, monitor closely implementation of mother and child report, HIS etc… coordinate with the PHCs and HOs accordingly.
• Report back on a daily basis to the area manager on all activities in the field
• Perform any other duties as required

Minimum requirements:

• University degree in nursing,

Public health degree is a plus.

• 5 years’ experience, preferably NGO and PHCs
• Strong communication and management skills
• Ability to work within a diverse team
• Good computer skills
• Fluent in English and Arabic
• Ability to work under stress and in emergencies
