Senior Pharmacist

The Senior pharmacist will work under the direct supervision and reports to the Deputy Health Coordinator. S/he will provide technical support to IMC Area Pharmacists in all areas. S/he is a member of the Central Health Unit which includes the Health Coordinator, Deputy Health Coordinator and Senior Medical Advisor.  1.      Coordination a.      Medical Procurements Under the supervision of the Deputy Health Coordinator: S/he shall coordinate with Area Pharmacists/Area Managers/Logistics to prepare a unified Procurement Request (PRs) for medication, supplies, and equipment Coordinate with Area Pharmacists/Area Managers/Logistics to distribute procured medication, supplies, and equipment to supported PHCCs/MMUs Develop and update equipment specification lists in coordination with Logistics Develop and update all costing tools used by Area Pharmacists   b.      Field Visits S/he is expected to conduct a supervisory visit once per month to each office in coordination with the Deputy Health Coordinator and Area Manager. The visit would be to assess project implementation with regard to pharmacy where a visit should be conducted to a supported clinic as needed.   c.       Representation/Meetings In coordination with the Deputy Health Coordinator S/he would be required to represent IMC in meeting with international and national stakeholders S/he will conduct a monthly meeting with all IMC Area Pharmacists to guide and monitor program implementation in regard to pharmacy    2.      Reporting & Capacity Building/Quality In charge of developing, compiling, and analyzing all medication related reports (IMC, MOPH, YMCA) submitted by the area pharmacists. The analysis will feed into monitoring project implementation and costs, and will feed into proposal development of future projects Works closely with M&E department and Deputy Health Coordinator to develop new medication related indicators Provide capacity building and support to Area Pharmacists to ensure the timely and accurate submission of reports. In coordination with the Deputy Health Coordinator: Update all reporting forms used by Area Pharmacists in coordination M&E Develop and update SOPs for IMC Area Pharmacist processes Work with the quality team and Area Pharmacists to improve quality of pharmacy related services   3.      General: Perform other duties as requested by line manager Adhere to all of IMC’s policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct and Security SOPs   Minimum Qualifications Academic and professional       i.            Possession of a BS degree in Pharmacy       ii.            License to practice pharmacy in Lebanon Experience A minimum of two years of satisfactory working experience as Pharmacist, preferably with an NGO Language Good command of written and spoken Arabic and English Personal Qualifications     i.            Excellent communication skills     ii.            Able to take initiative within a defined framework     iii.            Able to work within a team     iv.            Flexible and creative      v.            Strong commitment to work     vi.            Able to work under stress   vii.            Strong commitment to the organization and its values Other Qualifications         i.            Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel for reporting and stock management purposes Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.   International Medical Corps is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability or status.
