Accounting Intern

ACCOUNTING INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION INARA is a non-profit, non-political organisation dedicated to providing life-saving and life-altering medical care to children impacted by war. We are currently looking for a part-time accounting intern to join our team in Hamra one day a week. The ideal intern candidate would be a team player who is excited about the non-profit sector and is studying accounting, business, or finance. You are a university student or recent graduate who is detail-oriented and organised. With this opportunity you will gain valuable hands-on knowledge about non-profit financial practices, and an opportunity to work in an exciting start-up environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with filing taxes, scheduling of account analysis, organising the accounts payables and receivables, reconciliation, and researching the principles of non-profit accounting for our 501(c)3 organisation. Support the programme manager and caseworkers on documenting and filing receipts through our online system Codify processes and procedures for better financial practices.   REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or working towards a Bachelor’s degree in accounting) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Previous experience with non-profit accounting is preferred but not required Strong interpersonal, written and oral English communication skills Interest in the humanitarian/nonprofit sector WORKING ENVIRONMENT Intern should be based in Beirut and will work in our Hamra office Intern would work 1 day per week with flexible hours The intern will be managed by the fundraising officer Priority will be give to those who can intern for a period of 3 months This internship is unpaid TO APPLY Send your CV and cover letter, detailing how you meet the requirements to taylor@inara.org The deadline for application is Monday, 16 November 2015
