Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA) Facilitator

 

  1. Deliver virtual, telephonic and in-person pre-arrival information and orientation to youth and adult refugees in Canada and abroad.

 

  1. Incorporate the changes conveyed by COA management in the content of pre-departure orientation and information sessions specifically designed for refugees.

 

  1. Study pre-departure information and orientation materials specific for refugees and any relevant updates. Engage in continuous self-directed learning, as required by IOM and COA.

 

 

 

  1. Support the COA activities in Lebanon or abroad by drafting schedules and participants’ lists; preparing refugee cultural profiles; compiling narrative reports and translating materials into target languages.

 

  1. Support refugee programming activities abroad and engage with the COA Facilitators globally, as well as with other IOM departments and missions as necessary. 
  2. Contribute to the development of promotional tools aimed at increasing the uptake of pre-departure services among refugee clients and in disseminating information about COA to stakeholders.
  3. Refer selected refugees to Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) in Canada when appropriate, for accessing support provided by Canada’s settlement program.

 

  1. Keep records and submit timely statistical reports of COA participants using existing systems and tools, in coordination with COA Manila staff and COA Management.

 

  1. Carry out administrative tasks, distribute program materials, correspond with clients, and participate in meetings. Support the coordination and scheduling of COA sessions.

 

  1. In coordination with the COA Coordinator and Facilitator, maintain an inventory of COA materials (COA Participant Workbooks, pens, bags, notebooks, etc.), support the procurement and distribution of COA training materials and supplies with COA supply chain management staff in COA Manila.

 

  1. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
