Child minder for UK Project

 

  1. Provide childcare services to children between the ages of 0-12 whose parents are attending resettlement processing activities, at the various locations where processing might take place.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean environment where children can play, learn or rest for the duration of processing activities, by tidying the designated areas.  
  3. Maintain attendance lists, perform regular head counts and ensure children are not left unsupervised or leave the designated area unaccompanied or with anyone other than their parent(s) or IOM staff member.
  4. Lead leisure and learning activities with children, including games, crafts, etc. that may be related to the process of resettlement, using the materials provided, as well as basic literacy activities in English or French (such as alphabet and numbers).
  5. Lead children in the basic concepts of making new friends, playing together, and sharing.
  6. Maintain childcare materials in the designated areas, incl. toys, books, learning materials, and inform designated focal points of any missing and damaged materials or needs.
  7. Report any incidents to PDO project assistants or Selection mission focal point, and alert them to any unusual situations.
  8. Pay particular attention to children with special needs and report concerning situations to PDO project assistants or Selection mission focal point.
  9. Assist in distributing food to children and adults as needed and ensure children drink enough water throughout the day.
  10. Provide other general support to the department as may be requested in line with the terms of reference.
