TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE CONSULTANCY CONTRACT OF: Graphic Designer Consultant
1. Duty Station of the Consultancy: Remote
2. Duration of Consultancy: 4 months with possibility of extension
3. Nature of the consultancy: Consultant Caregory B (maximum of 130 hours per month)
4. Project and scope of work
The project aims to enhance individual and communal mental health and psychosocial well-being by mitigating
the negative psychological impacts of the conflict and support efforts to promote social cohesion, peace and
recovery during the post-conflict period. In turn, a sense of hope, solidarity and mutual support within and
between communities will be fostered, potentially leading to reduced tensions, violence prevention, a restored
social fabric, and promotion of long-term stability. Through the activities outlined in this project, IOM aims to
prevent further distress and promote psychosocial well-being, while also advancing broader outcomes that
support peace and community recovery, especially in post-conflict settings.
In line with the project needs, IOM Lebanon will be developing needs assessment reports, project activities
overview, visibility and information, education and communication material relevant to the project outputs.
The Consultant will contribute to the design of the reports, IEC, visibility materials and other products in line with
IOM publications guidelines and manuals.
5. Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing: Mainly to the MHPSS Unit/Protection Programme, and other Programme Units at IOM Lebanon
6. Category B consultant: Tangible and Measurable outputs of the work assignment
Category B Consultant hired to design MHPSS reports, project overviews, visibility and IEC material under this project:
- In close coordination with the MHPSS programme manager and the MHPSS programme team, design assessment reports, programme overview, visibility and information, education and communication material for the IOM MHPSS programme (electronic and print materials) and in accordance with IOM publication guidelines. Products include reports, booklets, banners, brochures or leaflets, posters and others. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- Design and develop infographics and illustrations for current MHPSS programme activities, including but not limited to- available services, referral pathways, etc. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- In coordination with the MHPSS programme, support local partners under the project with their communications and products that require design. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- Support with the design of visibility material related to capacity building initaitves under the project. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- All materials designed or created should be culturally sensitive and adaptable to the context. Translation and design of products in Arabic may be required. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the teams on the ground, receive feedback and make necessary edits and revisions to the products. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- Provide design versions (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or other) and editable versions of materials created to IOM MHPSS programme via Dropbox or other electronic sharing methods. – Deliverable indicated within progress monthly report outlining the achievement of assigned tasks.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
7. Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
- Submission and supervisor\s approval of a progress monthly report outlining the achievements reached thus far.
- Monthly instalments to be based on the submission of consultation work completion confirmation.
- This consultancy is to cover short term graphic design needs of the MHPSS and other units of IOM Lebanon. Products will be requested within a due date. For each product, and according to the thematic area, the Programme Team would provide feedback and evaluation until the final product is submitted.

-Other materials as required
8. Education, experience and/or skills required
- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or any other related qualifications including art and design.
- At least 5 years of experience in graphic design with UN, INGOs, local NGOs, in both humanitarian and development contexts
- Previous experience with publishing IOM products is required.
- Strong practical background in using design software and technologies (such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, Illustrator, CorelDraww, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management;
- At least 3 examples of previous works with IOM should be demonstrated
- Previous experience in working in the UN system is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a multi‐cultural environment and respect diversity.
- Team work oriented but with a capacity to work independently.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
