Finance Assistant

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing necessary support to financial functions of IOM Beirut mission and hub/satellite offices.   Core functions/ responsibilities   1.  Custodian of petty cash for small office expenditures; collect funds, make disbursements duly authorized and maintain cash ledger in line with the prevailing instructions and posting of transactions in SAP; 2. Prepare mission’s treasury payment runs and proposals in SAP and follow up on the delivery process of checks to service providers and vendors; 3. Ensure proper supporting documents are in place before submission for signature; 4. Assist in preparing mission’s treasury (bank payments) through checks and bank transfers and related SAP postings; 5. Follow up on the delivery process of cheques to service providers and vendors; 6. Maintain a file system for finance documents, vouchers, invoices….; 7. Assist in the bank reconciliations at the end of each month; 7. Assist in the clearance of vendors’ accounts in SAP; 8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

a) Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
b) 1 to 2 years of experience;
c) High level of computer literacy (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook) in particular experience in computerized accounting systems including SAP application.
