Health Promotion consultant – part-time

Under direct supervision of the technical Officer TB/HIV in Lebanon and the overall guidance of the Head of IOM Office in Lebanon and with a view to achieve the expected results to promote equitable access to vaccines for vulnerable population , incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Assist in designing  material for public health promotion and COVID-19 vaccination awareness.
  2.  Identify the most appropriate messages and channels regarding the target population for public health promotion.
  3. Provides a variety of health education and promotion services including presentations, educational and skills-based workshops, trainings, small group discussion/facilitation.
  4. Gathers, compiles, and synthesizes information to develop an effective health promotion strategy.
  5. Train community mobilizers on COVID-19 awareness and appropriate delivery of messages to the target population
  6. Plans, develops and implements health promotion events, workshops, and outreach activities
  7. Monitor and track community activities and deliveries, ensuring compliance and efficient use of resources and materials.
  8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

    The incumbent is expected to demonstrate the following functional skills and competencies:

  9. Must be a self-starter and able to set priorities on work schedule; strict adherence to IOM Policies in all financial transactions
  10. Quickly become familiar with basic IOM guidelines include the Administrative and Financial Manual, correspondence, manuals, etc; ability to pick up and document unwritten policies, precedents, and practices
  11. Initiative and independent judgement is required by the incumbent in determining what needs to be done and the best working methods
  12. Intensive co-ordination with the IOM Mission RMO as well as the focal point for finances and accounting within national programs and SR partners is essential  
  13. Ability to work harmoniously with people of different national and cultural backgrounds

Experience:
Working with an NGO, INGO or UN Agency on health promotion.
Working with key and vulnerable population.
Experience in the humanitarian sector.
Fluency in English and working knowledge of Arabic is desirable;
