HOU2024 56 Site Management Support Field Mobiliser (20 positions - various locations)

The mobile site management support team operates within IOM Site Management Operations Unit. The team’s mission is to support people living in collective sites across Lebanon through ensuring efficient humanitarian assistance and community engagement activities are undertaken. The SMS mobile teams are expected to visit Collective Sites on a daily basis and undertake a variety of activities that are aimed at addressing the needs of the community through data collection, referral, community engagement, and capacity building.
By liaising with site-level stakeholders, humanitarian partners and site residents, the team ensures that the displaced population receives the necessary assistance, protection and opportunities for participation in decision making..
Under the overall supervision of the Site Management Programme Manager and direct supervision of the Site Management Operations Officer; conduct mobile site management activities across the designated area of responsibility. The individual will be responsible for the following activities:

 

  1. Conduct site monitoring activities collecting information on each site through service mapping, site monitoring, population needs and composition. Identify gaps in service provision and escalate to team leader. Reports should be tailored to each site and submitted/updated after every visit.
  2. Establish communication channels with Site Managers/Volunteers, and conduct weekly meetings or check-int to discuss any issues and gaps at site level
  3. Incident tracking and reporting: track incidents, report them to the Site Management Operations team and monitor resolutions.
  4. Work with site managers to establish and maintain community governance structures to ensure equitable representation and participation in decision making.
  5. Organise and lead meetings with the community to gather their input on site management and service delivery. This can include committee meetings, focus group discussions and key informant interviews.
  6. Conduct on-the-spot capacity building for site management team members, partners and community groups on topics such as site management and service access.
  7. Supervise activities such as cash for work and assist with distributions, when appropriate.
  8. Any other work as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Experience


EDUCATION

  • Completed Batchelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in NGOs or volunteering
  • Experience using Kobo as a data collection tool
  • Experience with community engagement


SKILLS

  • Delivers on set objectives
  • Effectively supports project implementation
  • Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, the displaced population and the broader community to advance country office objectives.

LANGUAGES

  • For all applicants, fluency in Arabic and English is required (oral and written).
