Livelihoods Project Assistant- Bekaa

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission and the Emergency Response & Recovery Officer, under the direct supervision of the Livelihoods officer in Beirut, and in close coordination with the Sub-office Emergency Team the incumbent will be responsible for the daily technical planning, supervision, implementation, monitoring and reporting of IOM livelihood activities  and for ensuring proper coordination with the community and municipalities. Management and oversight of the livelihood activities in his/her AOR, to ensure that project are completed within the given timeline and achieve the stated objectives; Support the design and planning process for the project; Coordinate with the IOM Livelihood department the identification of suitable Livelihood initiatives; Participate on the identification and selection of project beneficiaries; Ensure that the weekly and monthly work plan is respected in the field; Liaise with the Livelihoods department, Logistics and Administration department regarding financial projections, procurement, payments and necessary documentation; Manage, supervise and monitor the field staff under his/her supervision; Represent the Organization in relevant meetings in the area of pertinence as requested; Participate in staff training to build the technical capacity of staff and associates in the area of Livelihood support; Assist to organize and run weekly and monthly coordination meetings; Draft weekly and monthly reports; Report issues and constraints arising from project implementation; Identify areas for possible project improvement; Analyze project data; Assist in the conduct of livelihood interviews and business counselling sessions with beneficiaries to help them come up with viable small business and vocational training plans; Liaise with relevant organizations in her/his AOR, including local officials, UN agencies, NGOs, community based organizations, cooperatives and microfinance institutions; Come up with list of viable livelihood activities in the target communities based on an informed analysis of the market needs, opportunities and competition; Input beneficiary information on the Livelihoods Beneficiary Data base Conduct regular monitoring of the activities; Prepare and package regular project briefs to be disseminated to partner organizations, donors, beneficiaries and project staff to provide them with updates on the progress of project implementation; Undertake other duties as assigned.
