Migration Health Physician

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in IOM Beirut for administrative matters, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Officer in IOM Beirut, in close coordination with the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator from IOM Amman for technical matters, the incumbent will be responsible for: Performing migration health assessment and completing related medical documentation of refugees/migrants selected for migration in accordance with the resettlement country’s Medical Examination Guidelines/Protocols for Immigrants and the IOM Migration Health Assessment Guidelines. Assisting the Head of the IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre –Beirut  in providing technical supervision and monitoring of IOM medical staff in IOM Lebanon to ensure that the following activities are performed in accordance with the technical requirements of the resettlement countries: Medical case registration Medical treatment and follow up programs Data Processing and management Pre-embarkation medical examination of departing refugees      3.  Contributing to the analysis and technical elaboration of data gathered from the migration health assessment.                 4.Coordinating with the local/national health authorities, physicians, hospitals and laboratories, as needed.                5.Assisting in the preparation, design, analysis and implementation of research activities related to the migration              health, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases.      6.Assisting in developing potential health and migration projects/programs for the mission.      7. Assisting in medical escorting sick migrants to various destinations when required.      8. Supervising and coordinating with the MHD staff and other concerned colleagues in the IOM Missions in the Middle east including Iraq, Lebanon Syria and Iran under the Guidance of the Head of the IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre in Lebanon      9. Conducting the Pre -departure Medical Screening (PDMS) for the implementation and oversight of migration                  health assessment  (HA) for resettlement purposes forAustralia in accordance with the “short protocol” as the regional supervisor for the ME under the guidance of the Head of IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre in Lebanon      10. Acting as the Deputy of Head of the IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre in Lebanon by assisting among                others in the implementation and oversight of migration health assessment  (HA) programmes for resettlement purposes in Amman in particular and Middle East in general       11.Training of the MHD staff on the PDMS and the pre-departure check up in the ME,       12.Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by the direct supervisor
