Under the technical direction of the National Tuberculosis Programme Coordinator of MOPH Lebanon, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project“Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon” funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Emergency Fund Mechanism.
In particular, he/she will have the following tasks:
Clinical:
Provide diagnostic services and clinical care for all the patients arriving at the NTP center including diagnosis, treatment, and follow up on cases.
Provide technical guidance to other health staff working at the NTP center.
Abide by the guidelines and prescribing/treatment practices of the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP).
Ensure proper infection control measures are being implemented within the NTP center the physician is operating at.
Managerial:
Supervise staff attendance at the NTP centers daily
Supervise the referral of patients to the sanatorium if needed
Fill medical records in a complete and comprehensive manner
Track medication consumption rates at the NTP center as well as informing NTP coordinator about needs related to equipment and/or medical consumables
Report directly to the NTP coordinator and meet with the NTP coordinator and IOM health unit staff as needed
Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported tuberculosis centers
Participate in outreach activities, including TB screening campaigns in informal settlements and collective shelters, as required.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned
