In particular, he/she will have the following tasks:
Responsible for sputum collection procedures implementation, monitoring and supervision.
Colour, dry and process specimens using microscope for MTB testing and generate an official report.
Prepare samples and conduct testing using Gene Xpert machine as instructed by NTP manager/physician and assist NTP manager in providing an official report.
Ensure all laboratory equipment are functioning properly with regular maintenance and quality checks being performed in coordination with the NTP manager.
Facilitate the transport of sputum samples and other specimens types between the NTP center and Karantina center and/or other locations as instructed.
Ensure the availability and proper storage of all laboratory solutions and consumables.
Provision of quarterly reporting to the NTP center manager on the stock level of consumables.
Update physicians about laboratory results for patients promptly and record these results in patient files and MOPH registers as required.
Abide by the guidelines and clinical practices of the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP).
Facilitate the transport of sputum samples and other specimens between the NTP center and Karantina center and/or other locations as instructed by NTP manager.
Participate in evaluation by the NTP physician in charge on a regular basis to ensure proper completion of assigned tasks.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
a) University degree in medical laboratory sciences b) minimum two years of relevant work experience c) experience in the public health sector in Lebanon is an advantage.
