Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Emergency Response & Stabilization Coordinator the incumbent will perform the following functions:
Design and develop new programmes/projects on emergency & Stabilization and migration-related activities in close coordination with the relevant IOM units.
Review current projects and their implementation and design including transition strategy from emergency to recovery/development.
Liaise with established institutions (including government, donors, and other partners) in the country and with IOM colleagues at Regional Office and Headquarters to develop projects in the field of migration.
Monitor mission’s compliance with programme reporting requirements and prepare periodic and annual reports to be submitted to donors.
In coordination with Admin/Finance department, coordinate and monitor the Administrative and Financial aspects of projects to ensure projects’ expenditures and activities are on track.
Undertake duty travel for project/programme assessment when required.
Collect, and analyze information on IOM’s role and presence in Lebanon, i.e. IOM activities, initiatives, programmes / projects and achievements.
Prepare regular periodic and ad-hoc reports, situation, thematic and operational updates for sharing with internal and external counterparts, including government agencies, donors, partners, Regional office, Headquarters etc.
Prepare background information, notes, speeches and presentations for Head of Office and other senior staff on various topics related to IOM Lebanon Mission.
Develop policy, strategic and programmatic recommendations for planning.
Represent IOM in different Inter-Agency forums in order to report on activities, identify opportunities for project development and support the coordination of IOM’s work with other partners.
In coordination with relevant departments, draft , edit and produce material for briefing notes, situational reports, presentations, press releases etc.
Provide programme support as required to different programmes, particularly with reference to multi-sectoral themes.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.

a) Advanced university degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Humanitarian affairs or related field; b) five years of field experience in migration related issues, and emergency work, including camp and shelter management, support to displaced populations and the implementation of early recovery activities.
Effectively interfaces with government officials of appropriate level on matters related to substantive migration issues and the work of IOM.
Effectively applies knowledge of migration issues within organizational context.
Correctly frames migration issues within their regional, global, and political context.
