Senior Driver

Under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer, the successful candidate will provide reliable and safe driving services to IOM and its officials and visitors ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues   1.Serve as the official driver to the CoM and to all IOM & Non-IOM VIP visitors and senior officials;       2. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicles to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicles. This includes daily check of tyres, brakes, engine oil, fan belt, etc…..;       3. Arrange for minor repairs and ensure that the vehicles are kept clean;       4. Ensure that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals;       5. Make sure that the vehicles always have full tank prior departure for field trips;       6. Ensure that the IOM vehicles are used only for official, authorized business, as advised by the supervisor;       7. Make sure that the daily log sheet is prepared and a monthly report is prepared summarizing statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption for the vehicles;       8. Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials;       9. Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicles and along transport routes;       10. Collect and assure safe delivery of important and critical documents to important entities, in addition to general correspondences and documents;       11. Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of involvement in accident;       12. Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination;       13. Ensure provisions of reliable and safe driving services under critical and         hazardous conditions;       14. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
