SVN10018 Reintegration Assistant (Protection - Return) - G5

Context:

Under the overall supervision of Head of Programs and the direct supervision of the Protection program manager the Reintegration Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1- Serve as a focal point for all reintegration activities relating to the Lebanese returnees, provide advice and feedback to sending missions on case-related inquiries, including conditions in the country or availability of services, and ensure compliance in MiMOSA.

2- Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures concerning return and reintegration processes.

3- Facilitate reintegration activities for returnees who are eligible per guidelines and SOPs from sending missions. 

4- Assist returnees with drafting or adjusting viable and sustainable business plans, authenticate supporting documents and ensure coordination with sending missions for approval. 

5- Undertake monitoring missions to assess progress in the reintegration plans.

6- Liaise and support sending missions on case-related inquiries, including conditions in the country or availability of services.

7- Support the coordination of airport arrival assistance with airport staff and monitor that all returnees are assisted as required.

8- Support drafting of relevant documentation, briefing notes, statistics and any other type of document as required. 

9- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education.

Experience:

  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Lebanese migration context, challenges faced by migrants, protection gaps and responses implemented by UN and NGOs, Community-based initiatives.

Languages:

For all applicants, fluency in Arabic and English is required (oral and written).
