DTM Sudan Flash Alert: Rain and Flooding in Tawkar (Tawkar Town), Red Sea (Update 001): 30 August 2025

DTM Sudan's Early Warning Flash Alerts provide immediate updates on incidents and sudden displacement in Sudan.

On 29 August 2025, heavy rain and floods across Tawkar town of Tawkar locality in Red Sea displaced approximately 80 households. The floods primarily affected Ashwaie, Zarayeb, and 1st neighbourhoods in Tawkar town. Displaced households reportedly sought shelter in schools or with host communities within Tawkar and Sawakin localities.

Note: All figures should be understood as preliminary estimates only, pending further verification.
