Yemen — Flow Monitoring Registry Dashboard | Incoming and Outgoing Migrants (December 2025)

IOM’s Flow Monitoring Registry (FMR) tracks migrant arrivals to Yemen and migrant departure from Yemen through pre-identified and accessible flow monitoring points located in various governorates in Yemen including Ta’iz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa and Al Mahara. In addition, FMR also provide indicative estimates of irregular flows, their origin and intended destination as well as their migration drivers.

In December 2025, the IOM Yemen DTM tracked 21,996 migrants entering Yemen, representing an increase compared to the 17,659 migrants recorded in the previous month. The primary departure point was Djibouti, accounting for around 80 per cent of the inflow, followed by Somalia (18%) and Oman (2%). Migrants arriving from Djibouti mainly entered through Dhubab district of Ta’iz governorate, which received the largest proportion of arrivals, followed by Ahwar district of Abyan governorate. Meanwhile, all migrants departing from Somalia continued to arrive in Rudum district of Shabwah governorate. A total of 375 migrants arrived from Oman to Shahin district of Al Maharah governorate. Demographically, the flow remained predominantly male, with 60 per cent men, 17 per cent women, and 23 per cent children. In addition, the DTM team recorded an outbound flow of 2,034 migrants leaving Yemen. The majority departed for Obock, Djibouti, primarily from Lahj and Ta’iz governorates, while the remaining migrants traveled from Al Maharah to Oman.
