Area Monitor - Bekaa

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.  Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries. IOCC Lebanon has many programs in health and nutrition that aim to protect the wellbeing and nutritional status of vulnerable groups in development contexts as well as in relief. Currently, relief programs target populations that are affected by the on-going Syrian crisis. The programs focus on maternal and child health, as well as the strengthening of nutrition surveillance systems in Lebanon. The aim of the project is to protect the wellbeing and nutritional status of children less than five years of age, as well as that of pregnant and lactating women in Lebanon who have been affected by the on-going Syrian crisis. The project will focus on mitigating the future deterioration of the nutritional status of children through the identification of and management of cases of malnutrition, among others. IOCC seeks a full-time motivated Area Monitor to provide on the field monitoring of Health & Nutrition activities in Bekaa. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in monitoring and evaluation of programs (related to Nutrition and Health projects) Participate in the development of tools and guidelines for data collection and reporting Systematic checking data for quality and accuracy, and providing feedback as necessary Maintaining a database for M&E activities through data collection, entry and analysis Undertaking regular field visits to monitor project progress in Bekaa (4 days a week) Provide Social and Health workers with feedback, support, information and supplies. Compile and double-check (once a week): -    Referral forms and attendance sheets from Social Workers (located in the Primary Health Care centers) -    Child health files, logbooks and health cards from Healthcare Workers (located in the Primary Health Care centers) -    Health card and hospital claim forms from Pediatricians (located in Hospitals) Provide hard copies of child logbooks, child health files and referral forms to the Data Entry Officers. Monthly reporting on Activity Info. Weekly reporting to the Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator Perform other tasks when necessary Qualified applicants will possess: Computer literacy, particularly in Word and Excel Knowledge in statistical software BSc in Business or Health related fields Experience in humanitarian work Experience in field monitoring Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic Resident of the Bekaa governorate Motivated and community-driven 1 to 2 years of experience Must have a valid Lebanese driver’s license and a vehicle on a daily basis (please mention in the email availability of a car)
