Summary
The Health & Nutrition Area Coordinator will supervise and manage the implementation of IOCC’s Health and Nutrition Programs in the areas including Nutrition, Health Promotion, and Infant and Young Child Feeding. The H&N Area Coordinator will be responsible for representing IOCC in the target area for health and nutrition, managing and supervising the Health and Nutrition Team and building the capacity of health and Nutrition staff.
General Responsibilities
Act as a focal point for an area on all health and nutrition Programs and activities;
Supervise and manage the health and nutrition program in that area including:
Supervise and monitor the implementation of surveillance system for growth monitoring of children 0-59 months of age and the program for the management and treatment of acute malnutrition for identified children.
Conduct training on screening, management and treatment of acute malnutrition for primary healthcare center staff where necessary and contribute to the activation of additional primary healthcare centers
Coordinate admission and discharge of children admitted for inpatient management of acute malnutrition
Assess and administer treatment for children identified with acute malnutrition where PHCs are not available in the surrounding area.
Conduct home visits as needed to follow-up on defaulting cases;
Conduct regular staff meetings for the Health and Nutrition Team and contribute to capacity building of the team.
Assess and address program challenges. Troubleshoot as needed;
Report back to Program Coordinator on a regular basis;
Remain informed of all internal and external health and nutrition activities within the target area;
Establish strong links and relationships with program stakeholders (PHCs, SHCs, partner NGOs, beneficiaries and donors);
Attend all Health Working Group meetings and other working group meetings as needed;
Attend and participate in IOCC meetings and capacity building activities.
Submit weekly report
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum 3 years experience with B.Sc. in Nutrition/Dietetics or other related fields (Public Health, nursing, etc.) or a minimum 1 year experience with M.Sc. in related field (Nutrition, public health, nursing, etc.)
Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic and English is necessary
Good public speaking and training skills
Strong social, interpersonal and intercultural skills
Strong team player
Able to meet deadlines
Problem-solving skills
Reporting skills
Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
Self-motivated, takes initiative

Working Conditions
Stationed in the field office with visits to Beirut office when required
