The Health and Nutrition Area Coordinator will be responsible of coordinating and ensuring smooth implementation of the health and nutrition project activities in the area including Nutrition, Health Promotion, Infant and Young Child Feeding, Early Childhood Development, and maternal and child health. The Health Area Coordinator represents IOCC to relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Coordinate, supervise and monitor the implementation of the health and nutrition project activities in the area of concern
Attend, participate and represent IOCC in all Health and Nutrition coordination meetings and other working group meetings as needed or requested and follow up on what is being requested during these meetings
Organize, coordinate and conduct trainings on health and nutrition topics where necessary
Contribute to planning and assessing new health projects and writing concept notes and proposals
Supervise team at the area level, participate in the recruitment process of team and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure proper fulfillment of tasks.
Assess, discuss and address program challenges with team and project manager
Establish strong link and relationships with different stakeholders, including donors, other NGOs, MoPH PHC coordinator, municipalities…
Prepare reports as needed and follow up on the monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure timely internal and external reporting
Report back to Project manager on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

Proven capacity in management, leadership and teamwork
Proven capacity in writing reports
Proven capacity in training
Excellent communication skills and team building skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point
Willingness to use personal car and to frequently travel to the field and IOCC Office
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
Education:
B.Sc. in Nutrition, Public Health, Health or related domain; M.Sc is an advantage.
Experience:
At least 3 years work experience
Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage
Previous experience in CMAM and IYCF program implementation is an advantage
Working Conditions
Stationed in the office and the field
