Health Officer (BML, South, North & Bekaa)

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Health Officer will supervise and manage the implementation of IOCC’s Health and Nutrition Integrated Approach project in the area of concern, focusing on Nutrition, Health Promotion, Infant and Young Child Feeding, and maternal and child health. The Health Officer will oversee the implementation of the project and related initiatives in supported centers, and will be responsible for managing a team of frontline workers.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  1. Provide technical support and guidance to frontline workers in the targeted area.
  2. Plan, supervise, manage, and monitor the implementation of the health and nutrition project in the targeted area.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  4. Conduct regular site visits to supported centers to assess the quality of services provided and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Supervise the team at area level and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure proper fulfillment of tasks.
  6. Assess, discuss, and address program challenges with team and project coordinator.
  7. Arrange visits for media, donors, and partners and represent IOCC during visits to the field. 
  8. Establish strong links and relationships with project stakeholders internally and externally including PHCs, SHCs, partner NGOs, beneficiaries, municipalities, local NGOs, Caza Physicians, MoPH PHC Coordinators, and donors.
  9. Attend and participate in IOCC meetings as well as all Health and Nutrition Working Group coordination meetings and other working group meetings as needed.
  10. Submit weekly reports on achievements in the targeted area, prepare monthly/quarterly reports as needed, and follow up on the monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure timely internal and external reporting.
  11. Report back to Project Coordinator on a regular basis.
  12. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven capacity in management, leadership, and teamwork
  • Proven capacity in writing reports
  • Proven capacity in training
  • Excellent communication skills and team building skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Willingness to use personal car and to frequently travel to the field and IOCC Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English

 

Experience:  

  • At least 2 years work experience.
  • Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in CMAM and IYCF program implementation is an advantage.

 

Working Conditions

  • Stationed in the field with frequent visits to the supported PHCCs, and to IOCC offices when needed.
  • Candidate should have a car.
