The Full-time Health Officer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of IOCC’s health and nutrition activities in the area of concern while supporting the frontline team from social workers, medical advisor(s), community outreach educator(s), IYCF specialists and healthcare staff.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Plan, supervise, manage the implementation of the project activities in the targeted area and report problems, challenges and issues to the Senior Health Officer/health area coordinator.
- Assist in monitoring and overseeing the implementation of IOCC’s Health and Nutrition activities in the targeted area including IYCF, health promotion, malnutrition program, support to health centers…
- Act as a link between the healthcare facility, social workers, data entry clerks, medical advisor and frontline workers at the community level
- Ensure data entry is being done correctly and in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reports and data are being filled in a timely manner at the supported healthcare centers
- Establish a good communication network with the different actors in the area of intervention to facilitate the implementation of project activities
- Conduct trainings on health and nutrition topics to IOCC frontline staff and healthcare center staff, where necessary
- Supervise team at the area level, participate in the recruitment process of team when applicable and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure proper fulfillment of tasks.
- Attend and participate in IOCC meetings and other working group meetings as needed or requested
- Submit weekly reports and work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) department to ensure timely internal and external reporting
- Perform other duties as required or assigned

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience.
- Previous experience in health programs
- Previous experience in coordination and management
- Experience working for an NGO preferred
Working Conditions
- Willingness to use personal car and travel to the field on a daily basis
