IOCC, with support from UNICEF, is seeking to support the Ministry of Public Health in developing its national implementation plan for Infant and Young Child Feeding. Therefore, IOCC is looking for an IYCF Consultant to lead and facilitate the development of the implementation plan based on the existing National IYCF Policy aiming at improving infant and young child feeding practices in Lebanon.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
The consultant will be responsible for facilitating the development of detailed action plan for infant and young child feeding in Lebanon based on the IYCF national policy. The plan will need to include a timeline, specific outputs, as well as roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders.
The process for developing the plan will include:
- Using the previously developed National Policy on IYCF as a basis for the development of the action plan.
- Building on the previously conducted consultative meeting on the IYCF policy (notes to be provided by IOCC).
- Coordinating and consulting with different stakeholders including the IYCF advisory committee, and scheduling regular meetings at the Mother and Child Department to discuss and set the action plan.
- Developing a draft action plan in consultation with the technical advisory group for IYCF at the Mother and Child Department at MoPH.
- Establishing clear monitoring indicators for the action plan
- Submitting the action plan to the Ministry of Public Health, Mother and Child Department, UNICEF and IOCC for feedback, and amending the documents as requested
- Attending MoPH related meetings when required
- Attending IOCC-related meetings when required
- Submitting the final implementation plan by March 27, 2020
Qualifications
- Experience in a related field is required: More than 10 years
- Experience in development of public health nutrition plans and strategies or other strategic health documents.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills including ability to bring consensus amongst a group of professionals.
- Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic and English is necessary
- Ability to meet deadlines
