Malnutrition Monitor Volunteer (BML, Akkar/North, Bekaa/Baalbak, South)

The malnutrition monitor volunteer will be responsible for overseeing the family MUAC screening activities at the community level and supporting the team in the implementation of the malnutrition program.

1. Train mothers from the community on the Family MUAC screening and follow up on referrals of identified cases to the malnutrition screening and treatment PHCs
2. Ensure proper follow-up of children admitted for management of acute malnutrition and prevent a high incidence of defaulters.
3. Refer malnutrition cases to specialized agencies to receive the needed support when needed (cash assistance, food assistance…)
4. Link the community to the nearest PHC, inform them of the malnutrition services provided by the PHCs and refer suspected malnutrition cases to the screening and treatment centers
5. Follow up with referred beneficiaries to the screening, treatment centers, or hospitals treating acute malnutrition cases to ensure they have received the service they need
6. Report and raise major challenges or concerns related to the referrals to the nutrition officer
7. Perform other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA): 

• Good organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and initiative taker.
• Dynamic personality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Education:  

Preferable education degree: Health Sciences or any related field

Experience:  

Previous experience in working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.

Working Conditions

• Stationed in the field
• It is preferable that candidate resides in the area of interest and that candidates can commute with his/her own car
