Background:
IOCC is a US-based international relief and development agency established in 1992 by the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA). It offers emergency relief and development programs to those in need worldwide, without discrimination. Programs description:
IOCC has many programs in health and nutrition that aim to protect the wellbeing and nutritional status of vulnerable groups in development contexts as well as in relief. Currently, relief programs target populations that are affected by the on-going Syrian crisis. The programs focus on maternal and child health, as well as the strengthening of nutrition surveillance systems in Lebanon. IOCC works closely with the Ministry of Health’s Infant and Young Child Feeding program and UNICEF.
Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Health and Nutrition
Summary: IOCC is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer on 6 months contract, with possible extension, for its Lebanon Country Office. Responsibilities include:
Contributing and supporting the development of systems and processes for the implementation of M&E design and procedures (related to Nutrition and Health projects).
Participating in the development of tools and guidelines for data collection, collation and reporting, systemically checking this data for quality, accuracy, and consistency, and providing feedback as necessary.
Maintaining a database for M&E activities– baselines, assessments, reviews, evaluations, through data collection, data entry and data analysis
Analyzing and compiling data from all program areas to measure the progress and impact of projects’ activities (including data on nutritional status indicators).
Identifying tracking trends and recommending improvements for program activities where appropriate.
Undertaking regular field visits to monitor project progress throughout Lebanon.
Supporting field staff in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, as well as with reporting on findings from monitoring activities.
Performing others duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload with diverse tasks and responsibilities.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the area of Nutrition or Public health or Reproductive health or Maternal and Child health.
Strong background in monitoring and evaluation, and project coordination.
Well-developed research, analytical (qualitative and quantitative), documentation, report-writing and strategic planning skills.
Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of SPSS, ACCESS, and EpiInfo is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic. French or other language is a plus.
Motivated, community-driven, demonstrates initiative.
