The Nurse will be conducting essential Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) related tasks including screening for Non communicable diseases, vaccinating, taking vital signs, maintaining filing system, following up on drop out patients and outreach activities and entering data. The Nurse will also provide key messages on health and nutrition topics to the children and their caregivers.Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Support the nurse at the PHC to conduct daily nursing tasks
  • Screen the patients above 40 years of age for their general health status
  • Conduct non communicable diseases and health related awareness sessions at the PHC level
  • Enter data on a daily basis and submit them to IOCC
  • Provide awareness about IOCC activities and services provided at the PHC level
  • Conduct multiple field visits to the PHC catchment areas for outreach and/or vaccination related activities
  • Refer patients to the needed services and follow up closely with them
  • Conduct phone calls to remind the beneficiaries to approach the PHC’s for the NCD second and third stage screening
  • Partake in the events conducted at the healthcare center or in the field.
  • Prevent the spread of infection in the health center and/or field by applying all measures for disinfection and sterilization
  • Coordinate the activities between different stakeholders when needed
  • Provide key messages on health and nutrition topics to caregivers
  • Attend IOCC-related staff meeting when required
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Experience in working in a primary healthcare setting
  • Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic is necessary
  • Good public speaking and communication skills
  • Strong social, interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Work experience in the field
  • Team spirit
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience required: 1 to 2 years
