Summary:
Screening is an important part of any nutrition program since it helps in the rapid detection and first diagnosis of cases of malnutrition to be treated in later stages. Therefore screeners occupy a primordial role in the screening because they are responsible of collecting the required information for the detection of any malnutrition case. Therefore, the success of the screening and the whole data reliability depends on the skills of every screener and its ability to conduct the related tasks.
General responsibilities:
Supervise teams conducting screenings for malnutrition for children under 5 on a daily basis
Ensure quality of measurements and data collection
Make sure that all information needed is recorded properly on screening and referral forms.
Refer all children identified with malnutrition (SAM and MAM) for treatment
Return, if necessary, to the family for completion of information or measurements.
Collect and aggregate data and information and report to screening and assessment coordinator on data collected
Attend training on screening of malnutrition (MUAC measurements, edema identification, malnutrition diagnosis, screening forms and referrals).
Follow assigned schedule and days of work.
Represent the organization through ethical behavior and making sure that IOCC jackets and IDs are always with screeners.
Take responsibility of MUAC tapes as well as IOCC jackets and IDs.
Follow security measures.
Knowledge and skills
Bachelor Degree preferable in the Field Health/ Nutrition/ Medical Lab/ Social sciences
Excellent communication skills
Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic and English is necessary
Strong social, interpersonal and intercultural skills
Strong team player
Good knowledge of the region and location of most vulnerable areas/localities.
Aware of the general humanitarian ethics.
Computer literacy.
Willingness and ability to circulate all around the North (Tripoli + 5 and Akkar areas)
Experience:
0-1 year of experience with NGO/field work/with beneficiaries.

Working Conditions:
In the field with occasional visits to IOCC office in Beirut
