Purpose
The International Rescue Committee is organizing Business English Courses to help the interested staff in acquainting professional means of communication and adequate English vocabulary to be used in the work context.
The Business English Classes will be run are expected to run in Bekaa as per the below:
Proposed timeline:
The Business English Courses will be expected to run twice a week over a period of 4 weeks (each session will be of 1.5 hours)
The courses will be expected to start beginning of August and end by beginning of September.
General Requirements:
- Placement test to ensure coherence between staff attending the same class
- Course outline and handouts to be available to participating staff
- Pre-Post tests if applicable with relevant report
Classes and Locations:
Bekaa:
2 classes accommodating 20 around staff each
To be divided as per placement test results
Topics to be covered
1st session
Introduction: Business English Key words/concepts and most common mistakes
2nd Session
Meetings: setting the agendas, controlling the conversations, participating, taking notes
3rd session
Presentations: introducing a topic, linking and sequencing ideas, responding to queries
4th session
Oral and Written Communication: write & follow up E-mails and active conversations
5th session
Project Management processes vocabulary and Report Writing Essentials
6th session
Team Building, Resolving Conflict
7th session
Customer Service & Dealing with Complaints
8th session
Final revision + Post test
