Capacity Building Officer (Based In Qobayat)

The Capacity Building Officer is responsible for the implementation and follow up of capacity building activities for IRC staff, local partners and community members based on the assessment of gaps and needs within the teams under the supervision of the Capacity Building Manager. The Capacity Building officer will support in coaching sessions, peer to peer learning and monitor capacity building processes. Major Responsibilities: Training & Capacity Building: With the support of the Capacity Building Manager contribute in conducting a SWOT analysis and assessment of local partner’s needs and gaps Contribute to the development of training and learning modules, mentoring and coaching tools Coordinate the delivery of coaching and mentoring sessions with local partner staff and mobilize other IRC’s team members to provide technical input and expertise Facilitate trainings in technical and organizational development topics, including GBV case management, GBV core concepts, community mobilization, reporting. Organize and ensure smooth delivery of trainings for local partners and IRC staff Collect all relevant data on participants and update participant databases on a routine basis Collect training reports, complete other documentation in a timely manner Collect pre and post tests for each training, and evaluate the impact of the trainings Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC sector staff Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs Utilize agreed tools to monitor quality of implementation by local partners and provide recommendations to address gaps Adapt training materials (handouts, presentations, etc.) and tools to monitor effectiveness of trainings, including pre and post-tests Partnership development & management Participate in the mapping and assessment of local partners working in the target area Support local partner during administrative and reporting processes, including recruitment of staff, submission of financial and narrative report to ensure adherence to IRC’s standard and build capacity of local partner Prepare schedule for local partner’s staff dedicated to the project to ensure coordination with IRC’s WPE team Provide feedback to Capacity Building Manager and other key WPE team members on how to best support local partner’s capacity building process Other Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs All IRC staff is required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies. Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to:  WPE Program Manager Position directly supervises:  None Indirect Reporting: WPE Capacity Building Manager Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: Capacity Building Manager, Senior Officers, Case Management Officer, Adolescent Girl officer External:  Local partners and focal points Job Requirements Work Experience: Professional in case management, community mobilization and advocacy preferably in an emergency context Experience in delivering training  mandatory Experience coaching and mentoring staff/volunteers on technical topics Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Clear understanding of gender, human rights, and issues surrounding violence against women and girls. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email Language Skills:  Fluent in Arabic and good knowledge of English Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic required Working Environment:  70% field work, 30% office based work.
