Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international organization specialized in emergency and humanitarian programming. In January 2014, as part of the Child protection programming the IRC began the implementation of a specialized pilot program for street and working children- activities include the provision of psychosocial support and case management services for Street and Working Children in Mount Lebanon/Beirut. Job Overview/Summary: The case worker will be responsible for working closely with street and working children at high risk of harm providing case management services according to standardized procedures and protocols. The case worker will work in and around Beirut/Mount Lebanon conducting house visits; follow up and monitoring of children’s working hours on the street in line with case action plans (night shifts may be included). The case worker will also be responsible for closely coordinating with relevant external agencies for service provisions and referrals to national mechanisms to report cases of children at high risk of harm. Internally the case worker will be working closely with the senior case worker and street educators to identify children at high risk of harm as well as coordinate with the apprenticeship and cfw officer to refer caregivers and youths to training schemes. Who this position reports to: Senior Case Worker Major Responsibilities: Identify cases of street and working children at high risk of harm; Provide case management services in line with the national standard operating procedures for case management; Conduct house visits, follow up on the street, update case action plans and forms accordingly; Maintain up to date documentation of case management files ; Ensure that all high risk cases are immediately reported to the direct line manager (Senior Case Worker then CP SaWC Manager); Maintain regular communication with external referral agencies for service provisions; Remain abreast of developments in the field of service provisions this includes maintaining and updating spreadsheet with mapped services and focal points for service provisions; Participate actively in weekly case management team meeting; Communicate regularly with CP officer and SaWC manager for updates on achievements and challenges in the field; Collaborate closely with the Psychosocial team (Street educators), apprenticeship and cash for work officer on cases, as well as provide support as and when requested; Draft reports-internal case management report, juvenile judge reports, resettlement referrals; Respond to hotline calls for street and working children (on a rotational basis); Other Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to the SaWC manager and  liaising with external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and SaWC manager to enable and develop IRC programs Professional Standards All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies. Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to:  Senior Case Worker Position directly supervises: N/A Indirect Reporting:  N/A Job Requirements: Technical diploma or degree in social work, human rights, or related degree preferred Minimum of 2 years experience of implementing child protection programs, preferable social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus  Staunch advocate of child protection and child rights; Desirable not essential Experience working with street and working children Experience working with Syrian, Dom and Turkmen communities
