Child Protection Psychosocial Worker

SCOPE OF WORK: The Psychosocial (PSS) worker will be responsible to organize PSS activities in the community and in the community center of the partner.  The PSS worker will also be responsible to support the para-PSS workers.    Position objectives: Run PSS activities ensure that their work is according to guideline and standards Provide technical support to the PSS Para worker through coaching Who this position reports to:  CP deputy Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Participate in  the CP Psychosocial wellbeing baseline tool and support its implementation Participate in the development of the PSS material for children and parents Support volunteer para-PSS worker and  the development of their coaching plan Ensure that the PSS activities taking place in the communities and the settlement respond to the need Organise PSS activities in the community and in the partner community center Organize awareness events inside the community Develop a collaboration and dialologue with community member Provide strong technical support in the delivery of PSS programs, especially targeted and specialized PSS activities for children showing sign of PSS distress Ensure the correct implementation of the outreach strategy based for CP service delivery at the house hold level for Psychosocial activities Work closely with the Case workers Participate actively in the PSS meeting Participate in the development of lesson learned and best practices Coordination & Representation Attend CP coordination meeting when required Liaise and collaborate with other PSS actors when required Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC sector staff. Other Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs; Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs Professional Standards All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in social work, psychology, mental health or relevant field
• Experience in working with children mandatory
• Psychosocial work experience mandatory
• Experience in working in emergencies preferable
• Two years of relevant work experience in the area of child protection preferably in psychosocial work
• Experience in working in NGO preferable
• Ability to develop partnerships, network and attend coordination meeting
• Fluency in Arabic mandatory and conversation and written English an advantage
• Proficient in Word and excel
